Yes, dental implants are perfectly safe and are a tried and tested technique in cosmetic dentistry. At Smile Stories, we use world-leading Swiss-manufactured implants, which have proven results over decades.
Age isn’t a problem, but the amount and quality of bone will play a factor. Other things that may increase the likelihood of implants not succeeding are excessive smoking and advanced gum disease, as you could be at risk of the gum foundations around the tooth implant(s) from breaking down.
That being said, there aren’t many people that Carmen can’t help.
Dental implants are essentially “fake teeth”, but not in the same way old-fashioned dentures are. While dentures are loose-fitting and bounce around when you chewing, dental implants are “implanted” painlessly and hidden beneath the gum line, so they are a fixed and long-term solution.
They consist of a titanium replacement for a tooth root and a hand-made crown on top. Even some dentists have been known to struggle to spot the difference between a Smile Stories implant and a real tooth!
