Excessive sweating treatments using Botox also referred to as wrinkle injections are ideal for anyone who wants to minimise excessive sweating in the armpits.
Very small amounts of botulinum toxin, a protein produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum are injected into the skin under the armpits.
Botox blocks the transmission of nerve impulses to the sweat glands which as a result stops them from producing sweat.
We begin by inviting you in to our aesthetics and dental clinic located on Winton High Street in Bournemouth or we can speak virtually for an initial consultation to discuss your concerns and requirements. We’ll ask you about your medical history and give you all the information you need to know before your treatment, such as medications to avoid, what to wear on the day of treatment and more.
During your treatment appointment, we will put you at ease and answer any questions you have.
You’ll be asked to shave your armpits at least 2-3 days prior to treatment. This makes it easier to identify the areas that suffer the most from excessive sweating.
Reem, our hyperhidrosis expert will apply a topical anaesthetic to the area. Once the anaesthetic has taken effect, she will then begin injecting the botox into your armpits.
Once the treatment is complete we’ll talk to you about any aftercare and you can then go home. We may recommend a follow-up appointment in 1 or 2 weeks.

Once your excessive sweating treatment is over you can get back to your day with minimal downtime. You’ll be able to notice the difference after 3 days and after around 1-2 weeks the full effects will be visible (just not as a sweat patch on your clothes 😉 ).
We recommend that you avoid exercise as well as hot showers and baths for the rest of the day.
