What do nose fillers do?

Nose filler treatments (sometimes called ‘non-surgical rhinoplasty’) are made from hyaluronic acid, one of the body’s natural substances responsible for retaining moisture.

When injected into the nose, these dermal filler injections add volume to the treated area, helping to reform the shape of the nose and hide any bumps or lumps. Nose fillers can make a crooked nose look straight, hide ‘dorsal humps’, lift the tip of the nose and make it look thinner.

What is the nose filler treatment process?

At Smile Stories, it’s all about understanding your goals. We’ll ask you questions to understand what the ‘perfect nose’ looks like to you, which will inform how much dermal filler is used during your treatment. We’ll also fill you in on everything you need to know before your treatment, such as which medications to avoid, advice on your diet and more.

Next, you’ll be invited to our facial aesthetics clinic located in Winton, Bournemouth. During your appointment we will put you at ease and answer any questions you have before starting the treatment.

Reem, our licensed and certified facial aesthetics pharmacist, will then clean the treatment area and apply a numbing anaesthetic cream. She will then start injecting dermal filler into your nose in precise areas, massaging the filler into place after each injection.

Once we have achieved the desired look, we’ll talk to you about any aftercare instructions and your treatment will be complete.

What to expect after nose filler

You can expect instant results after your non-surgical rhinoplasty treatment using dermal fillers, so whether your aim was to have a straighter, thinner or less lumpy looking nose, you’ll achieve your goals straight away.

You should, however, be prepared for there to be some redness and swelling directly after your treatment as well as a little tenderness. These side effects should subside within 48 – 72 hours though. You may also experience some bruising around the injection site.

We advise that you avoid excessive heat or cold, intense exercise and drinking alcohol for 24 hours after your treatment. You should also try to minimise any nose movement while the filler settles.

How long do nose fillers last?

Nose fillers should last anywhere between 9 and 18 months, making them a fantastic alternative to permanent surgical nose jobs.

Once you feel your fillers have started to wear off, we are always happy to top you up again!
