Reduce the appearance of your double chin at our double chin treatment clinic in Bournemouth

At Smile Stories, we offer two different options for people looking to reduce the appearance of their double chin.

Firstly, we offer dermal chin fillers which are made from hyaluronic acid and are injected into the treatment area to shape and contour the chin. Alternatively, we offer Aqualyx fat dissolving injections which are injected into the chin area. The Aqualyx compound then attaches itself to fat cells and dissolves them, leaving you with a slimmer, more youthful chin. Our double chin treatment practitioner, Reem, can advise you on the best treatment for your situation.

What does Aqualyx do?

Aqualyx works very differently to chin filler as it is a fat dissolving compound designed to reduce fat cells, making it a fantastic way to treat a double chin.

Once injected into the fatty area, Aqualyx will begin to attach itself to fat cells, eliminating them entirely. It also tightens the skin in the treatment area, resulting in a smooth, defined chin.

What is the Aqualyx chin fat dissolving treatment process?

At Smile Stories, it’s all about understanding your goals. We’ll ask you questions to understand more about chin fat dissolving injections and answer any questions you may have. We’ll also provide advice for you to prepare for your treatment appropriately.

Next, you’ll be invited to our facial aesthetics clinic located in Winton High Street, Bournemouth. During your appointment we will put you at ease and answer any questions you have before starting the treatment.

You may need between 1 and 3 sessions of Aqualyx to achieve the desired look, so we’ll invite you back for your subsequent sessions if needed and give you any necessary aftercare advice before you leave the clinic.

How long does Aqualyx double chin treatment last?

Unlike dermal fillers, the effects won’t be noticeable straight away and the final results can take up to 8 weeks to show.

They are, however, more permanent than dermal fillers as the fat cells will be gone completely, so as long as you don’t regain the weight your double chin will be gone forever!

What does chin filler do?

Chin filler is designed to strengthen and define weak, saggy or fatty areas around the chin and jawline, adding volume to your chin and reducing the appearance of a double chin.

It helps to enhance the appearance of the lower part of your face making it look younger and fresher. Our dermal filler is made from hyaluronic acid, a substance which occurs naturally in the body and is designed to help retain moisture, therefore adding volume to the treatment area.

What is the chin filler treatment process?

To begin, we’ll have an initial consultation to understand your specific requirements. We’ll ask you questions to understand what the ‘perfect chin’ looks like to you, which will inform how much dermal filler is used during your treatment.

We’ll also fill you in on everything you need to know before your treatment, such as which medications to avoid, advice on your diet (i.e. not eating salty food just before treatment) and more.

Next, you’ll be invited to our facial aesthetics clinic located on Winton High Street in Bournemouth. During your appointment we will put you at ease and answer any questions you have before starting the treatment.

Reem, our licensed and certified facial aesthetics pharmacist, will then clean the treatment area and apply a numbing anaesthetic cream. She will then start injecting the dermal filler into your chin in precise areas, massaging the filler into place after each injection.

How long does chin filler last?

You can expect instantly noticeable results from your chin filler which will continue to give you a more defined chin and jawline for anywhere between 9 and 18 months.

Once the filler has dissolved, we will be happy to top it up for you again!

Double chin treatment FAQs

Which areas of Bournemouth do you offer double chin treatments in?

Our facial aesthetics and dental clinic is based on Winton High Street, but we offer double chin treatments to the whole of Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and Dorset. We’re always happy to offer an initial telephone or video call consultation to better understand your needs before you come and visit us.

How much does double chin treatment cost?

Our double chin treatments start at £142 per session for Aqualyx and £190 per session for dermal fillers. Most people only require one session every 9 – 18 months.

What is the best treatment for a double chin?

Aqualyx fat dissolving injections are often the best treatment for a double chin as they permanently remove the fatty cells causing the double chin. This treatment does take longer to see the effects compared to dermal fillers though, so if you just want to add definition to your chin, fillers may be the best choice.

Does chin filler hurt?

No, chin fillers are virtually pain-free and we use a numbing anaesthetic cream to reduce any pain during the treatment.

Does chin filler swell?

Yes, you will likely have some swelling, redness and perhaps even bruising after your chin filler treatment, but the swelling should subside within 72 hours and all side effects should be gone within 2 weeks.

Does chin filler migrate?

All dermal filler can migrate, but when conducted by an expert such as our resident pharmacist, Reem, this is incredibly unlikely.

Are chin fillers permanent?

No, chin fillers will last anywhere between 9 and 18 months. For a more permanent solution to your double chin, Aqualyx fat dissolving injections might be a better choice.

Are chin fillers safe?

Yes, the chin fillers we use are perfectly safe and FDA approved.

Do fat dissolving injections work on a double chin?

Yes, fat dissolving injections work incredibly well to remove the fat causing a double chin and tighten the skin around the treatment area to leave you with a more defined, youthful looking chin.

How much Aqualyx is needed for a double chin?

This will depend on the individual, but usually only 1 – 3 sessions using 1 -3 vials are required to eradicate double chin fat.

Is Aqualyx safe?

Yes, Aqualyx is a safe, effective, FDA approved fat dissolving injection treatment, especially when conducted by a trained professional.
