For spread to be kept to a minimum, your hands should be washed systematically so no areas are missed. This is how you do it:
Wet your hands under the tap
Apply enough soap to lather your hands. Don’t be shy with it
Rub your palms together
Turn your hands over and rub the back of your hand with the palm of your other hand
Lock your fingers together and clean between
Rub the backs of your fingers against your palm
Clean your thumbs and fingers individually
Clean your wrists
Rinse you soap off your hands
When should you wash your hands?
After washing your hands, use an alcohol gel, in the same way, to further minimise the risk.
